Variance Permit Application Process to Keep More Than FIVE Dogs or Seven Cats
If you live within the congested areas of Washoe County, you are allowed to have up to five dogs and or seven cats that are over the age of four months without a permit. You are required to apply for a Variance Permit through WCRAS if you wish to have more than five adult dogs or seven adult cats within your residence, in a congested area of Washoe County, per Washoe County Code (WCC), 55.390 for the exception of exemptions mentioned in WCC, 55.430.
